EDWARD J. GUZA
FOUNDING ATTORNEY
With more than two decades of experience spanning complex litigation, mediation, negotiation, and trial, Ed Guza has built a reputation for achieving results in some of Montana's most challenging legal matters. Respected by clients, peers, and the judiciary alike, he is known for his strategic approach, thorough preparation, and comprehensive understanding of Montana law. A determined advocate, Ed believes the strongest legal representation begins by listening and developing practical strategies tailored to each client's unique circumstances.
A fourth-generation Montanan, Ed grew up in Great Falls before moving to Havre. After serving four years in the United States Marine Corps, he earned a degree in Political Science from the University of Montana before receiving his Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1999.
After returning to Montana, Ed began his legal career with Drysdale McLean & Nellen, P.C., in Bozeman before founding E.J. Guza & Associates. Today, that firm has evolved into Guza | Lorenz | Carl, PLLC, continuing its tradition of providing experienced legal counsel and representation throughout Montana. Throughout his career, Ed has remained committed to the Montana values he was raised with: hard work, lasting loyalty, and always choosing what is right over what is easy.
Ed focuses his practice on litigation and employment law, including OSHA matters, wrongful discharge claims, employment manuals, contracts, civil defense involving construction accidents, and personal injury cases.
He is admitted to practice before the Federal District Court of Montana and is a member of the State Bar of Montana. He also served as president of the Gallatin County Bar Association.
Outside the office, Ed enjoys everything Montana has to offer, including off-road enduro riding, hiking, skiing, camping, and spending time with his family.
